Kate Balzer
Kate Balzer is a trained Pilates instructor who studied under the direction of Michele Larsson and the Core Dynamics, Inc. program out of Santa Fe, New Mexico.  The program, designed by Michele Larsson, teaches the historical Pilates Method as taught by Eve Gentry.  Kate began practicing Pilates five years ago and after one year of practice began the teacher-training program to become a Certified Pilates Teacher.  She has over twenty years experience as a dancer, including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Tap.  Kate has been teaching at Cheetah Gym for three years and is trained in both Pilates Mat and Reformer work. 

 

 


Sayward Popham
Certification: Power Pilates

Sayward comes to us via Colorado and Hermosa Beach,
Ca. She has always been physically active, but found
her match when she began taking pilates classes.

Upon her arrival in Chicago, she began studying the
Power Pilates method. This method focuses on the
classic teaching style of Joseph Pilates. She has
witnessed first hand the body changing effects of
pilates, and enjoys sharing that experience with her
clients.


Megan Thompson
Megan Thompson began studying Pilates in 1998 as a part of her dance training. She continued these studies at the Laban Centre in London, England and at Excel Movement Studios in Washington, DC where she completed a 700 hour classical training program in the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning. In addition to her Pilates certification, Megan holds a BS in Dance and English from the University of Wisconsin and a MFA in Dance from the University of Maryland. She has taught both Pilates and dance at private studios, the University of Maryland, the National Institutes of Health, the Kennedy Center and many dance festivals both nationally and internationally. As a teacher, Megan uses her knowledge and experience with many somatic methods to provide students with a variety of ways in which to approach the Pilates method.


Lindsay Stryffeler
Lindsay Stryffeler is a certified Pilates instructor. In 2004, she completed a comprehensive certification program from The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO. Currently, Lindsay is completing the Masters Program at The Pilates Center. She has also studied with Physicalmind Institute, Stott, and Power Pilates. Lindsay also works as a mentor and adviser to apprentices in other accredited Pilates training programs.
Lindsay’s classic teaching style is dedicated to preserving the authenticity and brilliance of the Pilates method, based on the original work of Joseph Pilates. In addition to Pilates, Lindsay studies yoga, holistic healing and nutrition.



Erin Carlisle Norton
Erin C. Norton began studying Pilates in 2000 alongside her dance training.  Earning a BFA in Dance from Ohio State, Erin completed the Pilates teacher training program at Chicago's fromthecenter Pilates Studio and became a certified instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance. Erin continued her movement studies to complete a Graduate Laban Certificate in Movement Analysis (CMA) from Columbia College Chicago in 2007, coursework which has given her a deeper understanding in how to observe, assess, describe, and notate movement and movement patterns.  Erin is a choreographer and dancer, presenting work with her dance company regionally and nationally .  Frequenting as a guest artist at universities across the Midwest, Erin has been teaching Pilates mat classes and equipment sessions in academic, gym, and private studio settings since 2004.
