Experience/Background: I grew up playing sports and living a very active lifestyle. When I started to have avoidable injuries in my mid 20's I came to realize the importance of overall fitness for being able to continue to do the things I enjoyed. The lessons I learned from these experiences lead me to pursue going back to school full time for a formal education in Personal Training.
Motivation: I am motivated by seeing results in my clients and helping them to reach their goals.
Expertise: Knowledge of anatomy and nutrition. Focus on Proper form to get the most out of the time you put into the gym. Addressing problem areas to improve functionality. Balancing out weak areas and adjusting routines to avoid over training in other areas.
Philosophy: My approach is to start by building a base of overall fitness focusing on form and working all muscle groups to help avoid injuries. Once a base has been established, the focus should be on progressing to more challenging and varied workouts so you continue to improve your level of fitness and get closer to achieving your goals. Each client has individual needs and interests, so training needs to be personally tailored to meet each clients goals, and also personally tailored to make sure each client is enjoying themselves. Nobody will continue to do something day after day that they hate doing.

Experience/Background: I was first introduced to weight training 13 years ago. At that point, the goal was to increase in strength and size for athletics. I continued training throughout high school and college while playing basketball at Lanham Christian (MD) and Wheaton College (IL).
After graduating from Wheaton with a BA in communications and minor in psychology, I continued weight training on a regular basis. In the winter of 2004, I decided to further educate himself in the philosophies and science behind weight training. I became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in early 2005 and has never looked back.
